In honor of Kent Hendrickson, whose wellness battle inspired the creation of this site.
What is the purpose of WellnessStory.org?
This site provides a way for those who have found solutions to wellness trials to share them with others without revealing their identity, while providing a degree of reliability.
Who does this help?
Anyone who has a similar journey as you could benefit from learning your wellness story.
Who can help:
Anyone who has learned something worth sharing in their battle with disease or other health condition can help. Perhaps you have learned what didn’t help, but are still looking for answers. You can still record your wellness journey here for others’ benefit. If your loved one has passed away, I am so sorry– you may submit on their behalf if you are very familiar with their story.
Who owns this site? This site has no affiliation with any other company, organization, or medical facility. This site is hosted on a virtual private server by Nathan Bruley who works as a systems analyst at a local hospital. He is susceptible to colon cancer and his grandfather died from it, so this data has personal significance.
Why help?
My desire is to help others enjoy life together with their loved ones by encouraging unbiased information sharing. I am looking for more unbiased information to be able to support those I know who are going through health related trials. I don’t just want the theory: I want actual life stories of people like you who have been through the trial and know what worked or did not work for you. Since everyone is unique, getting a broader picture from as many people as possible could help others in their own trial.
How you can help:
Please register and then fill out the questionnaire which will appear above after login.
How to see other’s submissions:
After submitting your story, you will be able to see responses from others. If you don’t have a story to tell yet, you will need to register to see others’ responses, which are kept private from search engines. After registering, click the Responses link above.
Why do you need an account?
An account enables you to save your progress, or to come back later to correct something. It also helps to identify you as a unique individual, to better validate that the submission is real, and to prevent spam submissions. Your account information is confidential and will not be shared without your permission. Account information is not included in the published survey results.
How will your information be used?
The information you provide will simply be available for others like you to review. It will not be sold or generate revenue. I am not affiliated with any sellers of products or services. Answer the questions with information that you are comfortable anonymously sharing with the public–responses will not be manually deidentified. Questions have been worded to exclude personally identifiable information.
How can you contact WellnessStory.org or ask questions about a submission?
You may use the email address found on the My Submissions page to inquire. WellnessStory.org does not provide medical advice.
What types of questions are asked?
You are given the option to either summarize your story or answer detailed questions that would give others a clearer picture of the aspects of your story that can help them. For example, those fighting cancer will need to fill out type (location) of cancer, stage of cancer at the beginning and current, what procedures/treatments/products you tried with consistency, and (if cured) the length of time between when you first started treating your cancer and when it was deemed cured/in remission. Other details such as medication or supplement type and dose, impact of treatment, helpful resources/tips, diet, and tumor size can be supplied to provide the most help to others.
How long will it take to complete the questions?
This varies greatly depending on the level of detail you provide. You can save your progress and return later if needed.
